  1. I’ve owned every edition of this sourcebook since it was first published. It has grown larger and larger over the years as new groups have formed in real space and on the Internet. I wouldn’t be without this book because it addresses almost every concern known. In addition to the basic information on groups and how to reach them, the sourcebook provides some useful definitions of terms, explanation of the concept of self help and much more. There is a nice overview of effectiveness research on such groups as well. As an educator I find that students are really interested in knowing about this book and they use it to help with some of their research.
