Blissercises (bliss exercises) extend the work of Norman Vincent Peale. They take that final step of bypassing the logical mind when doing positive thinking. They operate from the true essence of who we really are. Usual positive thinking operates from the false identity that we think we are. Blissercises operate from the perspective of the observer self. They are tremendously powerful because of the giant leverage of operating from the observer self. The 400+ blissercises in this book invite you to look at things differently. When you do this you change. Your whole life changes. A miracle is uncovering (seeing) the wonders that are already there. Blissercises lift the veil so that we can see the miracles that are already present. With continued blissercising, you get to a state where the blissful experience is part of your daily happenings. You can do anything better when you feel good, when you feel God…. More >>

Description:
The purpose of this essay is to identify gender contracts in self-help housing construction. Gender contracts have been defined as invisible power relationships that determine roles, responsibilities, privileges, status, sexuality and behaviour of men and women within households, communities, the market and the state. Gender contracts shape social, economic, political and sexual relationships in what people often refer to as ‘our culture’. Various gender contracts constitute a gender system (e.g. patriarchy or matriarchy) under which general rules, perceptions, hierarchies and privileges are formulated, refined and preserved. The paper notes that although the adv… More >>

Ninety university students were randomly allocated to CBT or a control program, both on the Internet. Before and after treatment, the participants completed the Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI), an Anxiety Hierarchy Questionnaire (AHQ), the Exam Problem-Solving Inventory (EPSI), the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and the Heim r… More >>

Evidence supports the benefit of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) of psychosis for people experiencing psychotic symptoms, often diagnosed with schizophrenia. This study explores whether a mentored self-help intervention with similarities to CBT of psychosis benefits people experiencing psychotic symptoms and diagnosed with major mental disorders. A self-help workbook stemming from the British psychiatric survivor and voice hearers’ movements is used. Research results show significant between-group differences on the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale subscale for Anxious Depression. While a conservative interpretation of this result is that it is due to chance, a more positive interpretation is that the mentored self-help intervention made an improvement in participant levels of depression-anxiety. If so, this supports further research on the intervention and is particularly important as over two-thirds of those diagnosed with schizophrenia experien… More >>
